Spirit & Grace UK Fashion Production

The
Challenge

Emily came to us in 2020 after previously producing her collections in China.

Like a lot of founder-led brands, she had reached the point where the product was there, the vision was there, but the production route was no longer giving her the confidence, quality or communication she needed.

After experiencing issues with both quality and delivery, Emily wanted to bring her collections back to the UK and work with a more experienced design and production team.

She needed transparency, better technical support, clearer communication and a process that felt collaborative rather than chaotic.

Her own words said it best:

“Working with you and your team couldn’t be more different - it is a total joy, your attention to detail is incredible and there is total transparency with our contract and your terms of working. The way you work totally highlights how uncommunicative and difficult my previous manufacturer was.”

Which is exactly why we bang on about process so much.

Because beautiful products need beautiful systems behind them. Or at the very least, systems that don’t make founders want to scream into a spreadsheet.

The
Solution

We worked with Emily across numerous collections, including a luxury loungewear collection developed during lockdown.

Starting from her design briefs and mood boards, we supported the full journey from concept through to UK production. That included fabric, trim and component sourcing, design development, sampling, fit refinement, grading, testing and production management.

Our team created a range of design options for Emily to review, helping translate her brand aesthetic into styles that felt wearable, premium and commercially right for Spirit & Grace.

Fit was a key part of the project. We refined her sizing and updated the grading from previous collections to improve comfort, wearability and consistency across the range.

Fazane also became the unofficial fit model, with her own wardrobe and personal style inspiring several pieces.

Founder-led development at its finest. Slightly less glamorous when you are being pinned into samples mid-meeting, but still.

As always, we guided Emily through a rigorous testing process to make sure the garments were not only beautiful, but properly made to last.

All styles were produced to a high standard with our factory in Sheffield, England, giving Spirit & Grace a more transparent UK production route and a closer, more collaborative way of working.

We worked with Emily until late 2022, when increased production prices and smaller order quantities meant the project was no longer the right fit for our set-up.

We were genuinely sad to see her go, but very proud to have supported the brand through such an important stage of its growth.

Thank g*d for Fazane Fox

Because sometimes founders do not need another vague supplier promise.

They need a team who can bring structure, honesty and technical experience back into the process.

This project was about more than making beautiful clothing. It was about rebuilding confidence after difficult production experiences, creating a clearer development route and helping Spirit & Grace move forward with better fit, better grading, better quality and more transparent UK manufacturing.

Lovely clothes? Absolutely.

But the real win was giving a founder a production process she could actually trust.

"I loved working with Fazane and her team, they are all exceptionally talented and totally got my vision and brand's aesthetic from our first meeting. Nothing is ever too much trouble and I am so grateful to have discovered them. Their patience, kindness and expertise made the journey from design development to final product a total joy - and each member of the team is SO lovely! I look forward to working on my future collections them all. xxx"
